Day 1: Airport to Negombo
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to Negombo, a coastal town known for its long sandy beaches and traditional fishing industry. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and soaking up the sun at the beach. -
Day 2: Negombo to Jaffna
After breakfast, depart for Jaffna, located in the northern part of the country. Jaffna is a vibrant city with a rich cultural heritage and fascinating history. Visit some of the famous temples, markets and other landmarks in the area -
Day 3: Jaffna
Spend the day exploring Jaffna and its surroundings. You can visit the Jaffna Fort, the Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, and the Jaffna Library, which was once one of the largest libraries in Asia before being destroyed in a fire. -
Day 4: Jaffna to Anuradhapura
After breakfast, head to Anuradhapura, one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the sacred city of Anuradhapura, home to some of the most well-preserved ancient ruins and Buddhist monuments in the country. -
Day 5: Anuradhapura
Spend the day exploring more of Anuradhapura, visiting the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, the Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, and the Samadhi Buddha statue, among other historic and religious sites. -
Day 6: Anuradhapura to Kandy
After breakfast, drive to Kandy, a charming hill country city located in the central part of the country. In the evening, witness a traditional cultural dance performance and visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. -
Day 7: Kandy
Explore Kandy further and visit some of the top attractions in the city such as the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, the Bahirawakanda Temple and the Kandy Lake. You can also take a stroll around the city center, which is lined with shops selling Sri Lankan handicrafts and souvenirs. -
Day 8: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, travel to Nuwara Eliya, a picturesque town located in the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country. You can visit a tea plantation and factory to see how tea is grown and processed, or simply take in the beautiful scenery of the lush green hills and valleys. -
Day 9: Nuwara Eliya
Spend the day in Nuwara Eliya, exploring the town and its surroundings. You can visit Victoria Park, and the Sita Amman Temple, or hike up to Horton Plains National Park for some stunning views of the surrounding landscape. -
Day 10: Nuwara Eliya to Katharagama
After breakfast, head to Katharagama, a holy city known for its ancient shrines and temples. You can visit the Kiri Vehera temple, the Maha Devalaya, and the Katharagama Mosque, among other religious sites. -
Day 11: Katharagama
Spend the day exploring more of Katharagama and its surroundings. You can take a safari tour of the Yala National Park, which is home to a variety of wildlife species including elephants, leopards, and crocodiles. -
Day 12: Katharagama to Galle
After breakfast, drive to Galle, a historic city located on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. Visit the Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved colonial forts in Asia, as well as other landmarks in the area. -
Day 13: Katharagama to Galle
After breakfast, spend the day exploring the charming coastal town of Galle. Visit the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, which was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later expanded by the Dutch. Stroll along the ramparts and admire the stunning views of the Indian Ocean. You can also visit the Galle Lighthouse, the Dutch Reformed Church, and the National Maritime Museum. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner of fresh seafood and relax on the beach. -
Day 14: Galle to Airport
On Day 14, you will be traveling from Galle to the airport to catch your flight back home. You may spend the morning in Galle to do some last-minute shopping or explore the city's colonial architecture and historic landmarks. After that, you will start your journey to the airport, which takes approximately two and a half to three hours, depending on the traffic. It's recommended to leave Galle early in the afternoon to avoid any delays or traffic on the way to the airport.
