Itinerary

Day 1: Airport to Anuradhapura

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to Anuradhapura, an ancient city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This city is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, and it has a rich cultural and historical significance. Upon arrival, you can relax and settle in at your hotel.
Day 2: Anuradhapura

Today, you will explore the ancient city of Anuradhapura, which was the first capital of Sri Lanka from the 4th century BC until the 11th century AD. You will visit many ancient Buddhist temples, monasteries, and other historical sites, including the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree, which is over 2,000 years old and is said to be a sapling from the original Bodhi tree in India under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.
Day 3: Anuradhapura to Dambulla

Today, you will depart Anuradhapura and head towards Dambulla, a city famous for its cave temples, which are also UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The cave temples are filled with Buddhist art, including statues and murals, and date back to the 1st century BC.
Day 4: Dambulla

Today, you will spend the day exploring the Dambulla cave temples in more detail. There are over 80 documented caves in the area, but the five main caves contain the majority of Buddhist art and are the most visited.
Day 5: Dambulla to Kandy

Today, you will drive to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. Kandy is home to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses a tooth relic of the Lord Buddha and is a sacred pilgrimage site for Buddhists.
Day 6: Kandy

Today, you will explore Kandy in more detail, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic, the Kandy Lake, and the Royal Botanic Gardens. You can also visit some of the local markets and shops to buy souvenirs and handicrafts.
Day 7: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (Train)

Today, you will take a scenic train ride from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, a hill station town surrounded by mountains, tea plantations, and waterfalls. The train journey offers stunning views of the lush green landscapes and is considered one of the most scenic train rides in the world.
Day 8: Nuwara Eliya to Tangalle

Today, you will depart Nuwara Eliya and head towards Tangalle, a coastal town located in the southern province of Sri Lanka. Along the way, you can stop at some of the tea plantations and scenic viewpoints to admire the breathtaking scenery.
Day 9: Tangalle

Today, you can spend the day relaxing on the pristine beaches of Tangalle or explore some of the nearby attractions, such as the Mulkirigala Rock Temple or the Hummanaya Blow Hole.
Day 10: Tangalle to Airport

Today, you will drive to the airport for your departure flight. Along the way, you can stop at some of the local shops and markets to buy souvenirs and handicrafts to take home as a memory of your Sri Lankan adventure.
